The Department offers B.S. and M.S. programs. The department offers courses in the areas of ecological (bio-diversity) , biotechnological, Chinese medicine, applied microbiology, and marine resources, which are related to industries of biological resource, industries of deep sea water, and natural environment science and life science education. The department will be heading in the following directions which are considered as a combination of local distinctive resources:

1. Transformation of traditional Chinese medicine and herbal plants into modern health products
2. Ecological organic agriculture
3. Related biotechnology and industries of deep sea water and biological resources
4. Recreational tour and ecological tourism
5. Guided tours and natural environmental education
6. Ecological Restoration and ecological engineering
7. Renewable biological energy, ecological community, and green city system
8. Applied Microbiology, food science, plan bio-tech
